Requirements for New Salesperson or Rental Listing Referral Agent Licensing
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must successfully complete 75 hours of basic real estate courses. The two mandatory courses consist of Real Estate Practice (45 hours) and Real Estate Fundamentals (30 hours). There is a final examination for each course. Students may take either course first.
- Upon successful completion of the education requirements, students need to register to take the State Salesperson Licensing Examination. Complete the exam application through PSI Exams, submit your transcripts and pay the $49 examination fee. The questions are multiple choice and include items on the State’s real estate laws and real estate in general. The passing grade is 75.
- After successful completion of the State Salesperson Licensing Examination, you must make application for licensure with a Pennsylvania licensed Real Estate Broker. Once licensed under your employing Broker, you may begin working as a licensed PA Real Estate Salesperson. Be sure to check back here for any changes in requirements.
