PMAR Advocates for You: A Meeting with State Senator Rosemary Brown

On Tuesday, April 8th, State Political Coordinator and Realtor® Bob Kelly, Political Field Representative Chris Fahy, and Association Executive Nicole Murray hosted a luncheon with State Senator Rosemary Brown. During the meeting, PMAR representatives shared insight into what it means to be a Realtor® member, emphasizing the dedication and professionalism required to effectively advocate for clients throughout the buying process. The group also briefed Senator Brown on Monroe County’s upcoming property re-assessment process, following a recent discussion the association held with County Commissioner John Christy and Chief Assessor Deb Storman.
In addition, PMAR presented a housing market update, highlighting current trends in inventory levels, listing prices, and sales activity to provide the Senator with a comprehensive overview of market conditions in Monroe County. Senator Brown expressed strong interest in the local housing landscape and was especially enthusiastic about efforts to improve affordability. The Senator discussed her plans to re-introduce Senate Bill 295, which would establish a tax-advantaged savings account for first-time homebuyers.
PMAR was sure to thank Senator Brown for her time, her dedication to advocacy, and for being a responsive and engaged partner to both the real estate industry and the broader community.
