Real Estate Continuing Education Livestream Learning Waiver Update

By: Sherri Martin on  in

The Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs sent out a notice to all professional licensees regarding waivers of certain regulations on Aug. 5.

Real estate licensees currently are able to complete continuing education credits through livestream learning methods under waivers first issued by the Department of State during the pandemic and extended by the General Assembly in June. This latest waiver extension is set to expire on Sept. 30.

Any licensee who completes continuing education credits via livestream prior to Sept. 30 will be eligible to receive credit for those courses. Any livestream courses scheduled on or after Oct. 1 will only be eligible for continuing education credit if the state Real Estate Commission and/or General Assembly act to extend or make permanent livestream education.

PAR has been working with the Real Estate Commission and General Assembly to advocate for permanent changes to allow for livestream learning in the commonwealth. It is expected that this change will be included in a general regulations update that is scheduled to be released by the Real Estate Commission very soon.

PAR intends to work with the commission, BPOA and the General Assembly on this issue and we will continue to provide updates as they are available.
